Chiba Hitoshi老師 (範士八段及東京都警視廳劍道場指導老師) 及多位自日本而來的七段老師們於二零零七年六月二十三日拜訪溫哥華. 並開設了一個涵蓋劍道型. 多種用劍技巧. 實戰練習的研習會. Chiba 老師主持了研習會劍道型的部份. Chiba老師花了一個半鐘頭以上指導所有參與者. 研習會的後半部份(另一個半鐘頭)則強調在正確的擊劍技巧. 製造攻擊機會. 及實戰的策略.
